Activity objectives

We expect (but cannot guarantee) that the organisations participating in this activity will go home with one or more new partners for a Mobility for Youth Workers project (MYW), a concrete project idea, and a progress timeline for the needed steps towards the a grant application.

Description

In this activity you will meet professional youth workers from municipal or other local youth work structures in Denmark, Finland, Ireland, the Netherlands and Norway that have been handpicked for their relevance*. Together you will get a chance to explore each other’s’ working methods and competences and discover ways how Mobility Projects for Youth Workers can be strategically used for areas of your work you wish to improve.

We believe that projects where youth workers increase their competences are necessary; but perhaps not always prioritised. Budgets seem to be strained in many youth work realities, so training staff (and volunteers) might not be the first thing to spend money on. On the other hand, most Erasmus+ countries have available budget for exactly this, and we believe in spending it on projects coming from relevant youth work organisations like yours.

We also think that all municipal / local youth work structures both have learning needs and things that you can offer (such as methodologies and good practise to share). And what better place than a partnership building activity where these needs and offers find each other?

Practicalities

Target group: Professional youth workers from municipal/local youth work structures who are open for creating international partnerships with organisations from the other countries present (Belgium – Flanders, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, the Netherlands and Norway), with the aim of applying for grant in February 2027.  If you feel like it would be beneficial to participate together with a coordinator, a youth officer or someone from the administration, we can also participate with 2 people from the same municipality/organisation.

Accommodation and food: We will organise the accommodation and cover the costs for accommodation and food (3 meals per day + coffee breaks)

Travels: You should be able to arrive before 16h CET in Oslo on the 30th of November. You can leave from the venue (central Oslo) after 16 CET on the 3rd of December. We will provide an additional night stay for those who are not able to return home that evening.

The travel costs will be covered by the National Agency in your own country. Please contact them to learn more about the procedure and potential co-payment.

Online onboarding: All participants will be invited to an online onboarding that will happen between 9-13 November. In the registration form you will be asked to indicate which of these days are suitable for you, and the selected time will be announced at a later stage.
