Activity objectives
The Study Lab aims to:
- explore the principles of curriculum design in youth work education and training
- critically reflect on how and why curricula are designed in particular ways
- analyse the relationship between higher education and non-formal education and training of youth workers
- exchange practices and experiences related to designing training programmes and curricula
- develop practical tools and guiding questions that support curriculum development in different contexts
- strengthen cooperation among actors involved in youth work education and training across Europe.

About EaT SNAC
The Strategic Cooperation of National Agencies on Education and Training of Youth Workers (EaT SNAC), active since 2022, aims to achieve systemic impact on youth work education and training across Europe.
The initiative focuses on strengthening recognition of youth workers’ competences and improving the quality of education and training systems that support youth work practice.
The EaT SNAC Steering Group includes the National Agencies of Belgium-Flanders, Estonia, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy and Latvia, together with the SALTO Training and Cooperation Resource Centre.
What is a Study Lab?
The Study Lab is an activity format that integrates exploratory and reflective elements to support trainers and educators involved in the education and training of youth workers. It aims to inspire participants, encourage reflection on current processes and practices, and contribute to the development of quality youth work education and training.
Preparation and follow-up activities, extending beyond the residential meeting itself, are integral parts of the process. The Study Lab will bring together a small group of approximately 12–16 participants, plus facilitators, creating a learning environment that encourages deep dialogue and peer learning.
The Study Lab format emphasises collaborative reflection rather than formal presentations, creating space for participants to explore questions emerging from their own professional practice.

Application requirements
● You are involved in education or training of youth workers as a lecturer, professor, trainer or educator.
● You have experience in designing training programmes, learning pathways or educational curricula.
● You contribute to developing education and training strategies in youth work at organisational, national or international level.
● You are interested in reflecting on the principles and practices of curriculum development.
● You are willing to engage in critical reflection on your own professional practice.
● You are motivated to contribute to the development of quality youth work education and training in Europe.
This Study Lab is not intended for beginners in youth work training or education.
