About the project

Anti-discrimination / Anti-racism
Description
In Rotterdam, we developed the project Faces of Rotterdam to celebrate diversity of this city who was in 2025 the most diverse city of Europe. In this project, we portray all nationalities. We, with a portrayed youngster from China and youth ambassador of UNHCR, would like to arrange an exchange with a country to learn from this most diverse city and how to handle this inclusion. At the same time, we want to learn from other countries about their challenges and how they deal with inclusion. This can be inclusion of nationalities, but also inclusion of ages or gaps in income or age.
Project objectives
Learn about each other cities, cultures who live in it and how everybody lives together so everybody feels welcome and can be themselves.
Methodology
We can develop the program together with the youngsters, but it has to focus on inclusion. Part of the program is watching the movie Faces of Rotterdam where 50+ inhabitants of all different nationalities tell about why they choose the city and how they experience the diversity. A possibility is also to meet more migrants of Rotterdam of 160 nationalities, visit the museum of migration and cultural activities. We will determine the time together.
