Activity objectives
By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Understand how safeguarding guidelines can be created, adapted and implemented in European Solidarity Corps volunteering and daily organisation activities involving ESC volunteers
- Work with and co-create safeguarding materials suitable for their own organisational realities.
- Learn from and with others active within the European Solidarity Corps volunteering by sharing successes, dilemmas, and resources.
- Create clear, actionable safeguarding implementation and development plans that can be taken home and used immediately.
Description
In this training course you learn how to develop a Safaguarding policy if you don’t have one yet. If you already have one this is your change to further develop it and learn from others.
This is a hands-on and very practical training for organisations active in volunteering activities within the European Solidarity Corps who are ready and willing to create and hold safe environments for their volunteers.

- Explore your role, boundaries and limitations in Safeguarding situations?
- Have hands-on experiential learning experience of developing your Safeguarding policy through case studies, real-life scenarios, and practice-based exercises?

Join us for this training course on ‘Safeguarding in practice’ in Rome from 9 till 14 February 2026.
We are seeking professionals and practitioners with the following:
- Active involvement in the European Solidarity Corps program - Volunteering projects (representatives from accredited organisations in ESC, supervisors, tutors, mentor, NA/SNAC partners representatives)
- Willingness to start or further develop your safeguarding policies
