Training and Cooperation Activities (TCAs) often mark turning points in participants’ Erasmus+ journeys—whether by sparking the confidence to apply for funding or by adding more quality to ongoing projects. Participants' shared experiences highlight how TCAs go beyond knowledge-sharing: they open doors, build lasting connections, and help educators and organisations grow within the programme.
What are Training and Cooperation Activities (TCAs)?
Training and Cooperation Activities (TCAs) are not just 2-3 day European seminars and meetings - they are key strategic tools in the heart of the Erasmus+ programme, fostering collaboration between organisations and enhancing the quality and impact of Erasmus+ projects.
They help educators and organisations build connections, exchange practices, learn how Erasmus+ can work for them and their learners, develop partnerships, and projects together.
TCAs come in diverse formats: practical training sessions, thematic workshops, international conferences, contact-making seminars, and study visits to inspiring institutions across Europe, exploring key topics in education aligned with Erasmus+ priorities.
How can TCAs support you as an educator or organisation?
Whether you already have project experience or are new to Erasmus+, TCAs offer hands-on support to help you grow along your journey.
They create space for sharing best practices, learning from experts and peers, building skills, reflecting on the key and most current topics in education, and forming connections that can lead to new partnerships and stronger projects.
TCAs also offer practical guidance on Erasmus+ priorities and funding with the help of National Agency colleagues on the spot.
For many newcomer organisations, taking part in a TCA is the gateway to Erasmus+. Even if your project journey doesn’t begin immediately, you’ll leave a TCA with new skills, valuable contacts, and inspiration you can use in your work.
The journey might start like this:
- Join a Training and Cooperation Activity (TCA)
Take part in a hands-on seminar designed to support newcomers to the Programme. - Connect with peers across Europe
Exchange ideas, find partners, and get inspired by others working in your field. - Shape your project idea
With help from expert trainers and National Agency staff, you learn how Erasmus+ can work for you and your learners, turn your idea into a concrete Erasmus+ proposal and gain confidence to apply. - Apply together
Team up with your new partners and submit your first Erasmus+ project. - Get funded and create impact
Your idea becomes a project filled with meaningful activities for your learners.
Who can apply for a TCA event?
Training and Cooperation Activities (TCAs) are open to a wide range of professionals in education and training.
If you are a teacher, educator, school leader, project coordinator, education professional, or work in an organisation involved in:
-
School Education (early childhood, primary, or secondary)
-
Vocational Education and Training (VET)
-
Adult Education (besides formal adult education providers, also including non-formal community organisations, grass-roots and NGOs, supporting adult learners)
-
Higher Education
- then you can apply to participate in a TCA on behalf of your organisation.
TCAs are also relevant for those who play a role in shaping education policy and practice. Depending on the event’s focus, participation may be open to experts and researchers, policy- and decision-makers, local municipalities and public authorities, stakeholders involved in education and training initiatives.
National Agencies select and support participation in line with national needs, priorities and goals, so the types of TCAs available and who can take part may vary from country to country.
Youth field participant?
Training and Cooperation Activities in the Youth sector focus on non-formal education, youth work, and youth leadership. These are published in the European Training Calendar for Youth.
