Participants will be expected to develop the ability to:

  • Understand and apply key mentoring roles within the ESC framework
  • Support volunteers’ social and cultural integration
  • Ensure volunteer well-being throughout the project lifecycle
  • Manage conflict and crisis situations constructively
  • Apply inclusive mentoring approaches
  • Support learning processes, reflection, and recognition (including use of Youthpass)

Description

This training targets individuals involved in organisations holding the European Solidarity Corps Quality Label, with priority given to mentors with limited or no prior experience in mentoring ESC volunteers.

More experienced mentors can be preselected but they will not have priority.

The training is based on the Competence Framework for Mentoring developed by the SALTO European Solidarity Corps Resource Centre and National Agencies under the “Mentoring under Construction” project, which aims to strengthen mentoring practices and foster a community of practitioners.

Format and participation requirements

  • Full in-person participation over 4 consecutive training days (27–30 October 2026)
  • Mandatory attendance at a preparatory online session (28 September 2026, 14:00–16:00 CET)
  • Full availability throughout the training period is required

Target profile
Candidates should:

  • Speak French
  • Be actively involved in an ESC-labelled organisation
  • Act as the main contact person for volunteers
  • Be directly responsible for mentoring and supporting volunteers (including integration, daily support, and follow-up)
  • Contribute to the recognition and evaluation of volunteers’ learning outcomesخ
