At SALTO-YOUTH South East Europe Resource Centre (better known as SALTO SEE) we promote cooperation between the Programme Countries and Western Balkan Partner Countries in the framework of the programmes Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps.
Our work focuses on supporting young people, youth workers, organisations working with youth and other actors in the field of youth and non-formal education from Partner countries in the Western Balkans.
We also support and encourage the youth work organisations in the Western Balkans to use the full potential of international cooperation and European developments to further develop youth work in the region.
SALTO SEE is hosted by MOVIT, the Slovenian National Agency for Erasmus+ Youth and the European Solidarity Corps, in Ljubljana.

What are the Western Balkan countries we support?
Within the framework of the Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps programmes, the countries of Western Balkans that we support, are referred to as third countries not associated with the Programme.
The countries we support in the Erasmus+ Programme are:
- Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo* and Montenegro.
The countries we support in the European Solidarity Corps are:
- Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo*, Montenegro and Serbia.
*This designation is without prejudice to positions on status, and is in line with UNSCR 1244 and the ICJ Opinion on the Kosovo declaration of independence.
Possibilities for cooperation with the Western Balkans within E+ and ESC
European Youth Programmes (Erasmus+ Youth and European Solidarity Corps) offer a number of opportunities for youth cooperation between program and partner countries.
Young people can be involved in projects like Youth Exchanges, Youth Participation projects, International Volunteering and Humanitarian Aid volunteering.
Youth workers and project coordinators can benefit from Mobilities of youth workers, Capacity building in the field of youth, Cooperation partnerships or offers from SALTO-Youth resource centres.

How to get involved in the programmes as a beneficiary organisation?
The Erasmus+ Programme and the European Solidarity Corps provide various opportunities for international learning mobility for young people, such as youth exchanges, youth participation projects, or volunteering as well as for those working with young people and organisations organisations to develop their competences and capacities relevant in the field of youth through mobility for youth workers, capacity-building in the field of youth or cooperation partnerships.
Organisations from the Western Balkan Partner Countries can become beneficiaries of the Programmes primarily as partners or in some cases as applicants. The different pathways to get involved are described at https://beyondb.eu/opportunities/ .
How to get involved in training, capacity-building and partner-finding activities?
The support activities organised by the National Agencies and SALTO Resource Centres within the Erasmus+ Programme (youth) and European Solidarity Corps provide actors in the field of youth with a possibility to gain new competences, exchange information experiences, and practices of youth work and youth policy in different countries, and to network and find partners for future cooperation within the Programmes.
These activities are primarily international and can take different formats, such as training courses and workshops, seminars, partnership-building activities, study visits, conferences, symposia etc. The aim is to promote the Programmes as well as to increase their quality and impact.
SALTO SEE supports the participation of various actors from the Western Balkan Partner Countries in the field of youth to support activities. Calls for participants are published in the European training calendar/Cooperation platform.
