Activity objectives

Objectives

  • Exploring the principles and values for working with youth
  • Learn participative practices that involve and encourage youth
  • Share examples and practices of local and international youth activities
  • Discover funding opportunities for international youth activities
  • Find potential partners for future international activities
  • Come up with project ideas and design the next steps

Description

This activity brings together Leader LAGs from different parts of Europe. It aims to discuss the role of Leader LAGs in supporting local and international youth activities and how can it link to the LAG's role of rural development.

Working with young people requires suitable practices and resources, but it also creates impact that only young people can create. In this activity you will look at important values and applicable principles behind youth activities and agree on common practices in involving young people in future cooperation. You will also see potential partners to future international activities and initiate ideas for cooperation. You will understand how Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps funding can help you to activate your young people and develop your work.

Application requirements

Application requirements
We will prioritise participants, who work in rural areas of Europe in Leader Local Action Groups (LAGs) with young people or who want to involve more young people in their work. Municipal youth workers are a second priority, if we do not attract enough representatives of Leader LAGs.

This activity is not open for NGO sector, representatives of formal education or people who do not belong to a LAG or work in municipal youth work.
