Do you work with young people with fewer opportunities in the Nordic region? Would you like to support them in discovering Europe and fostering inclusion through the DiscoverEU Inclusion Action? Join us for an engaging hands-on training in Helsinki, Finland, to explore how you can benefit from and contribute to this opportunity!

What is DiscoverEU Inclusion Action?

DiscoverEU Inclusion Action is an Erasmus+ project that offers travel opportunities to young people (age 18-21) with fewer opportunities, enabling them to explore Europe and gain valuable learning experiences. This training will help Nordic organizations better understand the framework, exchange good practices to support young people effectively, develop inclusive projects and apply for DiscoverEU Inclusion Action funding.

Description

This training is designed for municipalities, youth organizations, and other stakeholders in the Nordic region who want to create meaningful travel experiences for young people (age 18-21) with fewer opportunities. This can refer not only but for example to ones facing social, economic or geographic obstacles, dealing with educational or cultural differences, having health problems or disabilities or limited access to social rights.

The training will equip participants with the knowledge, tools, and networking opportunities to successfully design and implement DiscoverEU Inclusion Action projects with a strong participatory and inclusive approach.

Who is this training for?

We welcome participants from Nordic municipalities, youth organizations, and other entities working with young people with fewer opportunities. This includes for example:

  • Youth workers and youth leaders.
  • Representatives of municipalities and public institutions.
  • NGOs and grassroots initiatives working in inclusion.

Participants should be willing to develop a DiscoverEU Inclusion Action project and support young people with fewer opportunities in their mobility experience.

Training structure

The training is based on participatory and interactive methods, combining theory with hands-on activities:

Day 1: Opening and setting the scene

Day 2: Understanding participation and inclusion in the context of DiscoverEU

Day 3: Designing inclusive DiscoverEU Inclusion Action projects

Day 4: Next steps and closing

Costs

Coverage of participation fee

This project is financed by the participating National Agencies (NAs) of the Erasmus+ Youth in Action Programme. The participation fee varies from country to country. Please contact your National Agency or SALTO Resource Centre (SALTO) to learn more about the participation fee for participants from your country.

Coverage of travel costs

Please contact your NA or SALTO in order to know whether they would support your travel costs. If yes, after being selected, get in touch with your NA or SALTO again to learn more about the overall procedure to arrange the booking of your travel tickets and the reimbursement of your travel expenses.

Coverage of visa costs

Please contact your NA or SALTO in order to know whether they would support your visa costs.

Coverage of other costs

Unless specified otherwise, the hosting NA or SALTO of this offer will organise the accommodation and covers the costs for accommodation and food.

Application requirements
We only accept participants who are working with young people with fewer opportunities and are interested and motivated to apply for DiscoverEU Inclusion Action Erasmus+ projects in the future.
