Our work does not stand alone.
It connects with wider developments in the European youth field and contributes to long-term strategies that strengthen youth work across Europe. Through cooperation with National Agencies and other partners, we support processes that help shape the direction of youth work and its recognition at the European level.
We contribute to strategic processes and conceptual discussions that:
- focus on the quality and capacity-building in youth work;
- discuss recognition and validation of learning in youth work and volunteering;
- promote the value of youth work and volunteering for the young people's development;
- explore the nature of learning in youth work.
Through these contributions, we help strengthen the foundations of youth work in Europe at the local, national, and European levels.
The Validation Project
While validation arrangements are being established in all EU countries and beyond, it remains challenging to consider the competences acquired in youth work and youth volunteering within these frameworks. To explore the current state of affairs and challenges related to the validation of competences developed in youth work, SALTO Training and Cooperation Resource Centre and the Erasmus+ National Agencies of Estonia, France, Germany, and Slovenia started a cooperation project in 2024, with the focus on validation procedures in Higher Education Institutions in these countries, aiming to compile a study on this topic.
